Iranian tv shows downed drone.
The official Syrian government statement of December 28 cited "senior Syrian intelligence officials" as saying that three drones were downed in Aleppo province's al-Rashad neighborhood over the past two days and that a second drone was downed in an area near Tabqa airport in the province of Deir Ezzor governorate.
"It was launched from an al-Rashad neighborhood, about 5 kilometers from the northern city of Quneitra. Two and a half weeks ago, a drone hit a commercial jetliner near al-Rashad. It was hit because the air traffic control was not aware that a passenger airliner was flying nearby," a Syrian news channel quoting the sources said.
In another incident in the city of Hama on December 19, several local officials alleged that a drone was shot down in that city's Maysal area. The air defense control area claimed to have recovered all the downed drone images. According to the activists, an al-Qaeda commander is suspected to be responsible for this incident.
There are few details surrounding Syria's long-term foreign policy objectives, particularly during the period of the Obama administration's term, when U.S.-backed rebels and Russian-backed rebels were fighting for control of the capital and southern Aleppo provinces.
A U.S. intelligence report released on December 20 said a "senior" jihadist rebel organization under the command of Abdul Rahman al-Zarqawi had launched the al-Rashad attack and that it had been coordinated with the terrorist group Jabhat al-Nusra, one of the most active and notorious groups in Syria, which is associated with Al-Qaeda and has also used drones against its opposition, according to TASS.
An al-Qaeda affiliated group in Aleppo and the neighboring city of Deir Ezzor on December 21 carried out a drone attack near the eastern border with Turkish airspace, with Syrian media saying that the attack was conducted by the al-Nusra Front. The U.S. intelligence report said al-Nusra's forces have carried out several drone attacks around Aleppo in recent weeks.
U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice made several remarks during a Dec. 22 appearance on CNN, calling al-Qaeda "a terror organization" and stating that "the death of American soldier <John> Kony <of>the Lord's Resistance Army in northern Uganda] was a tragic thing."

Kojonup council sacks ceo and five co-founders after their plans to launch a new blockchain platform were thwarted by a judge.
The firm, which specialises in cloud, IoT and energy solutions, has applied to the European Financial Markets and Securities (EFSM) Board for permission to launch a blockchain fund for blockchain developers who wish to access its platform and to start a blockchain startup called Kojonup.
It is hoped the money raised through the Kojonup fund will be used to create a blockchain for the development of energy and energy efficiency projects.
Kojonup is seeking to launch a bitcoin platform that provides trading data from all major global energy markets, and a bitcoin-based platform that provides data for energy conservation.
With the current regulatory environment in Europe still uncertain and a long history of attempts to impose regulations on cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin and ethereum, the EFSM's decision could well open a window into the future of blockchain and bitcoin.
"The development of a blockchain is not a done deal yet but the time is right for such a service," said Kajsa Kojonup, co-founder and CEO of Kojonup.
"Our mission of providing people from all over the world with affordable and reliable energy solutions is one that has inspired us since day one and our aim is to empower the average joe in a way that never happened before in the history of mankind."
Crisis?
Kojonup has not given up on its aim and plans to launch a blockchain fund to fund the creation of a blockchain platform similar to SBI Ripple, which was created to help solve the banking crisis of the financial world by building a blockchain platform to process the transactions that currently take place on global financial exchanges.
While the fund is currently based in Luxembourg, it aims to launch the fund with an initial investment of as much as 2 million.

The Kojonup team was initially founded by Soren Tindell from the Swedish software firm Vittoria. Tindell joined the company in 2014 to work with bitcoin developers and the EFSM for a project called Kojonup, then named after the company's founders' early concept of a blockchain.

Man to front court over machete home invasion
He's now been charged with attempted murder and robbery.
Police were called just after 7pm on Tuesday after seeing a man pushing a motorbike on a driveway in the area of the Rialto Road and Main Street intersection.
Detectives said the motorbike driver was allegedly holding the girl in a headlock and forced her to take off in the bike's motor before they had enough to arrest him.
A woman later called police and told them how she had been home alone when she heard a loud crash and saw a woman on her bed, bleeding and holding the girl's head in her hands.
A 19-year-old boy was detained at the scene by police and later charged with attempted murder and robbery.

It was almost a full moon, and we watched some great things fly by “ big birds, kites, ducks and swans “ but even without them I could see a large amount of light reflecting off the trees. I did get a bit of rain outside, but nothing too big. The temperature was perfect in the air, and I was able to look at all the trees, too.
